What's your line in the sand?

Where do you draw the line in the sand?

Crossing the line in the sand.

What’s your line in the sand? How far do you let things go? When do you say enough is enough? We all have boundaries, a breaking point, a line in the sand. What’s yours?

Every day we have situations that reach for, touch and push our boundaries. It could be as simple as your child relentlessly hounding you for a piece of candy until you reach your limit. It can be as complex as having your moral code and values pushed or ignored in a personal or professional relationship. At what point do you say here’s my line in the sand that I will not let you cross?

Hello everyone, my name is Patrick. Increasingly I see boundaries being altered, deleted, moved or new ones instituted. Sometimes these are great things. Alternatively, sometimes not so much. I decided to go on a journey into what peoples’ line in the sand was, and why. Let’s see where we all stand on the whole range of topics. We’ll find out what are common boundaries and which are more individual.

How many times do you draw your line in the sand daily, weekly, monthly? What are some specific experiences where you’ve had to enforce your boundaries? Do you have times where you felt you couldn’t enforce your boundaries, and why? Has there been a change in your boundaries, when and why?

Thank you for being here as we start this journey. I welcome all to continue on this quest to see where others draw their line. Let me know where you stand and your reasonings behind it. Maybe we can come to understand each other a little better and find out we may not be as different as we thought. Share your experiences and thoughts and let’s all take the the journey to healthier boundaries.

‘Til next time, What’s Your Line in the Sand
